lyrics

The Newspaper says
and some of my friends
a war’s coming closer
and I should be scared
somehow I just don’t care
I’m going back to bed
more scared that my heart
will stop during the night

and even if they are right
if it is true
that our days in this world
are nearly due
I’m going out the door to
try to meet a stranger
to spend the night with
to take comfort in her kiss

and I will keep my eyes shut
and keep my ears closed
to peoples complaints
and to destructive thoughts
I’ve sat up my walls
I’ve closed all of my doors
I’ve removed my name from
my letter box and

Tyrannies follow Democracies
like winters follows falls
it’s all a bad dream
It’s a fools mind
who thinks the past
lies exclusively and

only behind
who wants to rewind
jump over fences and
travel in time
escaping, erasing
not preventing the
flaws of his nature
closing his mind and
thereby closing his eyes

to the role that he plays
the future he pays
the world he creates
with the handshakes
he makes
it’s noone’s fault it’s
just people multiplied
by billions.
The upward scaling of
both good and bad in a

balance game
like the “old school”
weights
where one side retreats
as the other progress
the seasons of the cities
of the ages of the species
do not differ
all that much from each-
other it seems to be
a divine touch and

Tyrannies follow
Democracies like winters
follows falls it’s all a bad
dream

and how come I think I’m
not affected by the changes
of the world
that I’m in.
